Annatta E. Tollefson
Annatta E. Tollefson, age 81 of rural Belleville, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on February 21, 1934, on her parents Marion and Florence (Kutzke) West's farm in the Town of Brooklyn, WI.
Annatta graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1952. On October 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to Russell Tollefson at the Brooklyn Methodist Church. Annatta was a homemaker and farmer; she had her preferred John Deere 2440 tractor for raking hay. Annatta and Russell enjoyed dancing several nights a week after making sure the farm chores were done, and she was also an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Paoli, Madison Packer Backers, Tuesday Coffee Klutch Bowling League at Swiss Lanes, Exeter Just for Fun Club, and the New Glarus Home Board.
Annatta is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Russell of Belleville, WI; children, David Russell (Sue Harrison) Tollefson of Belleville, WI, Kriss Ann (Eldon) Ace of Belleville, WI, and Lisa Annette Hendrickson of Blanchardville, WI; grandchildren, Jason Ace, Amber (Scott Pederson) Tollefson, Tyler Tollefson, Sarah (Ryan) Boley, Olivia Hendrickson and Haden Hendrickson; great-grandchildren, Anika Pederson, Jack Tollefson and Caiden Boley. She is further survived by her brothers, Erwin (Margaret) West and Kenneth (Roberta) West both of Oregon, WI; special cousins, Doreen Christenson of Shoreview, MN, Lynn Kalinowski of Lincoln, CA, and Malcom Burdick of Cedar Hills, TX; and a special god-daughter, Pamela Hahn of Harshaw, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Elizabeth Tollefson; and many other special relatives.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 1338 County Road PB, Belleville, WI, with the Rev. Sara Rabe officiating. Family graveside services followed at the Swiss Church Cemetery in New Glarus.
Relatives and friends called from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.
