This year there are changes to the annual Heidi Festival. There will be no play this year, and the Craft Fair will be held downtown in conjunction with the Taste of New Glarus on June 27, 2015.

The Heidi Folk Festival is a New Glarus tradition that has continued for over 50 years, due to the hard work and volunteer spirit of many people over the years. This effort continues, but with less people involved in the recent years of the festival.  Plans are to bring the Heidi play back in 2016, with several new cast members in place at that time.

Please be assured there is still a desire to keep the tradition of the Heidi Folk Festival going and the Swiss heritage of New Glarus alive, through this festival. The Heidi festival board continues to work together to bring about the tradition of this endearing story of Heidi and her Grandfather Alm Uncle, but in a different way this year.

What is not different, however, is the need for volunteers and willing hands and hearts to energize the festival this year and every year.
