Heading to state for Sugar River is Mike Fink, Ryan Hayes, Noelle Maire, Ashley Clark, Krista Diaz, Brandon Shemanski, Colton Boley, Cade Martin, Landon Zimmerman, Nick Smith, Dalton Fahey, and Tanner Hofer (missing from photo).
The Sugar River boys and girls track team qualified for the state meet in seven different events. To qualify for state, the participant(s) must place in the top four at sectionals. This year, the Sugar River track and field team competed in the WIAA Division 2 Track and Field Sectional at Viroqua on Friday, May 29.
In the boys discus throw, junior Landon Zimmerman took third place with a distance of 163-10, earning him a trip to state.
Placing 10th in the girls long jump was junior Madalena Macht at 15-02.50 while teammate, sophomore Grace Schulting, didn't place.
