Ponies Suffer Loss at Southwestern in Second Round of Regionals

 


In the second round of regional play, the Monticello softball team fell to Southwestern, 3-1.

"The Ponies led early 1-0 after two innings. Southwestern tied it up in the top of the third, scoring on a passed ball," said Head Coach Duane Garrison. "The score stayed that way until the top of the sixth where the Wildcats scored two runs on a Pony error. The Ponies did threaten in the bottom of the seventh with bases loaded and one out with our three and four hitters up, and neither one came up with the big hit."
