Illinois Wesleyan Announces Spring 2015 Dean’s List
Katelyn Masson, New Glarus, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year at Illinois Wesleyan University.
The Dean’s List, which was announced by Provost and Dean of Faculty Jonathan Green, includes students from 26 states and 13 countries. To be on the Dean’s List, a student must have a grade-point average of 3.50 or better during the semester, based on 4.0 for straight A’s.
Viney to Study Abroad
Matthew Viney, an economics and German major from Belleville, won a prestigious 10-month scholarship in the amount of $7,500 from the German Academic Exchange Service to study at the Goethe Universität in Frankfurt during the 2015-16 academic year.
UW-Green Bay Announces Names of Graduates
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 16, honored students who applied to graduate in May or at the end of summer session in August. Hannah Kernen, Bachelor’s Degree, Human Biology, Albany, and Taran Molnar, Bachelor’s Degree, Design Arts, Belleville, were both honored with degrees.
Mead & Hunt Awards Scholarship to Way
Zachary Way, a 2015 graduate of New Glarus High School, was awarded the Mead & Hunt student scholarship for continuing education this past month. Mead & Hunt awarded scholarships to five students this year. The scholarship program, which has been in existence since 2006, has helped more than two dozen students pursue their degrees. High school and college-aged students of Mead & Hunt employees can apply for the scholarship. Recipients are chosen based on a ranking system that considers transcripts, essays, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.

Kammerud Earns Degree From UW-Milwaukee
Larissa Nadean Kammerud is a 2015 graduate from UW-Milwaukee, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a major in Microbiology. She was the President of her Optometry Club and works at Optix on Downer in Milwaukee.
Larissa is a 2009 graduate of New Glarus High School. Her parents are Lauri and Phil Gutzmer and Larry Kammerud and Crystal Ruhde of New Glarus. She will be attending an Optometry school of her choice in the fall of 2016.
