Monticello Baseball Team Loses to Belmont and Pecatonica
In a doubleheader against Belmont on Friday, the Monticello baseball team was defeated in both games.
In game one, Belmont won 5-0 with Belmont amassing five runs and seven hits while the Ponies had two hits.
Offensively, Pusel and Spahr were both one for three.
On the mound for all seven innings was Siegenthaler, who gave up seven hits and five runs – none of which were earned. He walked two and struck out one.
In game two, Monticello lost 11-1, with Belmont totaling seven hits and the Ponies only having two.
