Sugar River Track and Field Boys and Girls Teams Finish Third at Oregon Relays

 


On Friday, May 1, 2015, the Sugar River track and field team competed in the Oregon Relays. The boys and girls teams finished third out of five teams with Stoughton and Oregon taking first and second.

The Sugar River girls 4x100 meter relay team took fourth with a time of 57.22 while they took third in the 4x200 meter relay. In the girls 4x400 meter relay, Sugar River took fourth at 4:37.37; they took third in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:50.34 while they took second in the 4x1000 meter relay at 13:23.06 behind Edgewood.

Getting fifth in the girls 1600 sprint medley was Sugar River, but they took third in the 3x100 meter shuttle hurdle at 58.84. The girls then took third in the 3x300 meter shuttle hurdle with a time of 2:46.09.

In the girls high jump, Sugar River placed third with a combined height of 12-08.00, and competing for the Raiders was Trisha Wiese, Lucy Grady and Ciara Roberts.

Sugar River took second in the girls pole vault with Ashley Clark, Kati Way and Rebecca Barr amassing a total height of 21.6.

Competing in the girls long jump and taking fifth place was Grace Schulting, Jessica Hutter and Kenzie O’Connor.

Placing third in the triple jump for the Raiders was the combined effort of Schulting, Hutter and Walela Three-Sticks for a total of 84-11.00.

The girls took fourth in the shot put with a total of 79.11.50 with Daisy Rivera, Cassie McMillan and Maddy Knox competing for Sugar River.

In the discus throw for girls, the Sugar River team of Rivera, McMillan and Knox took third place with a total of 245-07.

For the boys, Sugar River took second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 45.43 behind Oregon, and the Raiders took second in the 4x200 as well at 1:35.57. The team then finished third in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:47.87.

Sugar River competed in the 4x800 meter relay where they placed third, and in the 4x1000 meter relay, they took fourth while they also finished fourth in the 1600 sprint medley.

In the 3x110 meter shuttle hurdle, the Raiders finished second with a time of 57.06, but they took fourth in the 3x300 meter shuttle hurdle.

Winning the boys high jump was the combined effort of Tanner Hofer, Colton Boley and Drew Pickett for a total height of 15-10.00.

Sugar River placed second in the long jump behind the jumps of Brandon Shemanski, Ryan Hayes and Lucas Diaz with a total of 58-09.00 while they took third in the triple jump with Shmanski, Diaz and Miguel Santos competing.

With a combined total of 133-06.00, the Raiders team of Landon Zimmerman, Mike Fink and Jackson McMahan took first place while the same Sugar River competitors placed second in the discus throw with a total of 372-11.
