Knights Defeated by Columbus, Darlington
At Columbus on Friday, May 1, the New Glarus Knights were defeated 10-3.
Offensively, the Knights were led by Gavin Binger who was two for four with one run and one RBI, Jared Carney who was two for three with an RBI; Austin Schlueter who was one for three; Koner French was also one for three; John Chenoweth who was two for three with one run; and Hayden Latsch who was one for three.
Starting on the mound was French who pitched five innings; he gave up 11 hits and nine runs with seven of them being earned runs along with walking two and striking out eight.
Chenoweth pitched the last two innings where he struck out one while giving up two runs and one run which was earned.
On Thursday, April 30, at home, the Knights lost to Darlington 13-3.
Carney hurled the ball for three innings giving up six hits and eight runs – five were earned; he also walked four and struck out three.
Andrew Nimtz then pitched two innings and an out where he walked three while giving up five hits and five runs, three of which were earned.
Chenoweth pitched the last out.
At the plate, New Glarus was led by Dalton Way going one for two with an RBI, Schlueter going one for two with a run, Chenoweth going one for one with an RBI, and Binger going one for two with a run.
On Tuesday, April 28, the Knights faced off against Lake Mills; New Glarus fell to Lake Mills 3-0.
Top hitters for the Knights included Binger with one for three, Nimtz with two for four, French with one for three, Way with one for two, Latsch with one for two, and Brandon Winder with one for two.

French threw the ball five innings; he gave up two hits and two runs with them both being earned, and he walked two and struck out two.
Carney closed out the game giving up three hits and one run which was earned, and he struck out three.
The day before on Monday, April 27, the Knights were crushed by Wisconsin Dells on the road 13-0.
New Glarus had no hits in this game.
French was up first on the mound going two innings; he gave up four hits and five runs – four were earned, and he struck out four while walking three.
Chenoweth pitched an inning and an out where he gave up six hits and seven runs, five of which were earned. While on the mound, he walked two.
Closing out the game was Nimtz giving up two hits and one run which was earned.
