New Glarus Area EMS, New Fire Department, New Glarus Police, and Green County Deputies were called to a two-car accident with injuries and a fatality on Thursday, April 30. The distraught driver of the car at fault said he had just looked down for a moment while texting. His passenger was killed and the two people in the other car were seriously injured.

Luckily, the above scenario was not real but was a mock accident designed to illustrate to students at the high school the dangers of texting while driving. The Mock Accident also gave Emergency Responders a chance to practice trauma events like it's the real thing.
