NG Softball Dominated by Poynette, Cambridge

 


On Friday, April 17, Poynette dominated the New Glarus softball team 13-0.

Maya Kramer had the only hit of the night, and she pitched three innings giving up 10 earned runs, walking 10, and striking out one.

Riley Parker pitched the next inning giving up one earned run and walking two.

The Knights did not fare any better against Cambridge on Thursday, April 16, as they were defeated 14-0.

Sierra Whisler had two hits out of the team’s four.

On the mound, Parker pitched eight earned runs, two walks, and one strikeout.

At home on Tuesday, April 14, the Knights were defeated by Wisconsin Heights, 13-3.

Parker also pitched this game going five innings. She gave up eight earned runs, walked three, and struck out one.

Offensively, Kramer had one hit and one RBI while Noelle Austin had one hit and two RBIs.

“We are working to build our fundamental skills to become a competitive team. Currently, our bats are dead and errors are much too high to be competitive with other schools. We are building each day and focusing on learning from the errors that are made,” said Head Coach Hannah Grossen. “We have had a very rigorous schedule since the season started leaving little time for practice to come together and work out the kinks. However, the girls are getting more game experience, and I hope that we can see only improvement in our players and as a team as the season continues.”
