On Saturday, March 21, the Monticello track and field team competed in the Tri-State Small School Invite.

Junior Emilie Gietzel, senior Natalie Lehr, and senior Hallie Chicker competed in the girls 55 meter dash. In the girls 200 meter dash, senior Mackenzie Zanow placed 27th while Gietzel and Lehr ran that race as well. Zanow placed 11th in the girls 400 meter dash with a time of 1:10.52 while senior Lilly Blum finished in 38th place.

Placing 20th in the girls 800 meter run was Ashley Risley. Risley also finished in sixth place in the girls 3200 meter run with a time of 13:40.27.

Junior Kalyn Lackey, Chicker, and junior Samantha Gierhart competed in girls shot put.

On the boys side, sophomore Max Hoffmaster and senior Thorin Croushore competed in the boys 55 meter dash. Hoffmaster and Croushore also ran the boys 200 meter dash.

Sophomore Andy Yaun finished in eighth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.23. while Hoffmaster placed 25th.

With a time of 2:12.77, senior John Zuber finished eighth in the boys 800 meter run.

Competing in the boys 3200 meter run were seniors Dylan Beckwith and David Ruegsegger. Croushore also competed in the boys 55 meter hurdles.

The boys 4x800 meter relay team of Beckwith, Yaun, Zuber, and Ruegsegger finished in ninth place.
