Volunteers Needed for Belleville EMS
Your help is needed to make sure we provide our community with the best emergency medical care. Our dedicated volunteers, combined with the right training and equipment, help us make a difference when our neighbors need us most.
Have you ever thought about wanting to join Belleville EMS as a Volunteer but decided it was either too much training, too much time commitment, or you just weren’t sure you could do that kind of work. The Belleville EMS still needs Volunteers that would like to help but not be an EMT. We are in need of Volunteers that would help us at EMS calls or public events that does not require being an EMT but would assist the EMTs so they can do patient care.
The Belleville EMS responds along with The Belleville Fire Department to most all types of fire calls. We not only take care of any patients that are involved with the fire, but we also do preventative rehab care for all the fire fighters that are responding. In this type of event, the EMS will discuss with the Fire Chief and assess the need for long-term care and necessities while at this scene such as providing food, beverages, assistance with taking equipment off and on and much more.
Most any fire calls involve more than just the Belleville Fire Department, there are usually two to three other fire departments involved, which adds up to at least 30-40 fire fighters that only two to three EMTs are taking care of. At this point is where we would appreciate assistance, which would free up the EMTs to take care of the fire fighters.
The Belleville EMS would also like some assistance at our public attendance events such as, but not limited to, The EMS Open House, directing traffic at events such as Bastille Days Fun Run, Belleville Community Picnic Run and Bike Race, UFO Days and more. We would predominantly be looking for help during the day time during both week days and weekends. We are still in the planning stages of this new program.
We are always looking for new members to join us.
