State Bank of Cross Plains Vice President of Commercial Loans David Wyttenbach, of New Glarus (right), is shown at the construction site presenting the $4,000 check to HOOO Board members and co-founders, Mary Anne Oemichen, of New Glarus, and Susan Wallitsh, of Mount Horeb.

Home of Our Own (HOOO) is happy to acknowledge a gift from the State Bank of Cross Plains. This generous $4,000 gift will help HOOO meet its capital commitment towards construction of Prairie Haus, a $9 million rental community now under construction on Elmer Road in New Glarus. Prairie Haus will contain ten units (12 spaces) for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, along with another 30 units that HOOO expects will primarily be rented by seniors, young families, and other working people who want an affordable place to live. HOOO needs to raise its last $149,000 toward its $500,000 capital campaign obligation.

HOOO is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that will provide ongoing support for social activities and integration within the rental community and with the larger community on a continuing basis, and will assist others interested in creating similar homes for adults with special needs, working adults, and active seniors around Wisconsin and nationally.
