Years in the making, the Belleville Fire Department brought on their first JR Firefighter Trent Baumgartner on February 24, 2020. Trent is a junior at Belleville High School and a fourth generation firefighter!

The Belleville Fire Department's JR Firefighter Program is open to high school students ages 15 to 18 years old, and offers an opportunity at giving back to your community while volunteering with the fire department. JR Firefighters train with the BFD, respond with the BFD, and are expected to follow all rules and regulations just as a full-time member would, with a few exceptions for their own safety.

The Belleville Fire Department is proud to offer this opportunity for high school students exploring a career in the fire service. If you have any questions about the program or are interested in joining as a JR Firefighter, please reach out to them.
