New Glarus Upsets Belleville in Conference Showdown
On Thursday, Sept. 3, rivals Belleville and New Glarus faced off in a Capitol Conference South volleyball showdown with New Glarus coming out the winner: 30-28, 25-23, and 25-19.

"This was a good win to start conference play," stated New Glarus Head Coach Kelsey Schmit. "Two non-starters, Riley Parker and Willow Lee, got the winning assist and kill for us."
On the other side for Belleville, Alli Kowalski and Lauren O'Connor both had three aces while teammate Ryley Helwig had 13 digs. O'Connor also tallied up five blocks. Grace Schulting led the team in kills with four, and Lucy Grady had six assists.
"The Belleville fan support at the game in New Glarus was incredible. We cannot thank everyone enough for coming out and cheering on all the teams. Both varsity teams were evenly matched, but we had some missed serves and failed to score at key opportunities that cost us the first two sets," explained Belleville Head Coach Jill Haag. "We are working on staying positive and learning from our mistakes so we can be better prepared at the next event."
