NGHS CTE Departments Work Together To Turn Greenhouse Grown Food Into Healthy Dishes

One of the highlights from early November was the collaborative effort in the New Glarus High School CTE Department. Mr. Ziegler and his classes have been growing lettuce and cherry tomatoes in the greenhouse. On Wednesday, November 9th, Julie Martin's Family, Food and Society class harvested lettuce and tomatoes to use in class.

The next day, the class made Egg Salad Lettuce Wraps as part of the beginning of their Egg Unit. In addition, the materials were used for a Leftover Chopped Lab with the main ingredient being lettuce. This is a great example of CTE departments working together to promote learning, gardening, saving money and eating healthy.

Great job to Ms. Martin and her class and to Mr. Ziegler and his classes!
