Belleville Band and Choir Students Travel to New Orleans

While in New Orleans, Belleville band and choir students, along with chaperones, were part of "Rebuilding Together New Orleans." It was a service project where they helped homeowners whose homes were damaged during Hurricane Katrina.

During spring break this year, 82 high school band and choir students, along with eight chaperones, boarded a bus headed to New Orleans.

They experienced a wide variety of activities, which included tours of historic places like the Oak Alley Plantation and Mardi Gras World. They experienced foods and music of the South during a Jazz Riverboat dinner cruise. The students also had performances at the Riverwalk and in the historic Jackson Square.

One of the most rewarding and most memorable events of the trip was the service project "Rebuilding Together New Orleans."
