2016-2017 Monticello Dairy Queen Erin Lehr poses with 2015-2016 Monticello Dairy Queen Karly Ready after being crowned on Friday, June 3rd.
On Friday, June 3, 2016, Karly Ready, the 2015-2016 Monticello Dairy Queen, relinquished her crown and Erin Lehr was crowned as the 2016-2017 Monticello Dairy Queen.
Ready thanked the Green County Ag Chest for sponsoring the Queens program, Pam Burke for co-ordinating events and John Baebler for driving. She also thanked her parents, Kim and Rob Ready.
Erin Lehr, daughter of Dean and April Lehr, was then crowned as the 2016-2017 Monticello Dairy Queen.
In her introduction, which was received too late for last week's Post Messenger Recorder, she said, "I am going to be a junior next year at Monticello High School. I am also a member of our FFA chapter, Spanish Club, and Yearbook Club. I am also in the band and chorus. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, friends, volunteering, and working. I am employed at Greenwoods State Bank.
Discussing our FFA chapter I, along with three other girls, attended the National Soils Judging competition in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also, having all of my grandparents, Bill and Shirley Frontzak and Richard and Johnie Lehr, run successful farming operations for over 40 years I would like to learn more about the farming community and agriculture."
Congratulations Erin!
