Carl "Duane" Messer died suddenly on June 11, 2022, of a sudden heart attack in Antigo, Wisconsin. He was born on April 17, 1968, in Antigo, Wisconsin, to Armella and Leroy Messer.

He was united in marriage to Teresa (Bormett) on June 1, 1991.

He leaves behind his wife, Teresa; son, Carl; daughter, Melissa, all of Belleville, Wisconsin; father, Leroy (Lois) of White Lake, Wisconsin; brothers, Tom, Robert "Mike" (Eileen), Don, Leroy "Cody" (Robin), all of Antigo, Wisconsin; brothers-in-law, Tom Bormett (Jaquie), Don, Mike, Paul, all of Madison, Wisconsin; and Dave Weber; sister-in-law, Jean Bormett of Madison, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Armella Messer of Antigo; sister, Bonnie Messer of White Lake; sister-in-law, Rita Bormett of New York; and nephews, Tony Bormett of Madison, and Travis Messer.

There will be a celebration of his life at his father's farm in White Lake, Wisconsin, on August 6, 2022, from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. The address is N3481 Messer Road, White Lake, WI 54491.
