Redbirds End Wildcats Winning Streak

Following his 3-yard run for a touchdown, Trevor Syse kicked the extra point. Darlington won over Belleville 32-20.
On October 8th, Belleville Wildcats varsity football's winning streak was ended by the Darlington Redbirds, who are first in the SWAL conference. Despite it being a fairly close game most of the way through, the Wildcats lost in the end. The final score was Darlington 32, Belleville 20.
Darlington scored a touchdown in the first quarter. Their 2-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful. In the second quarter, Trevor Syse ran it in from 3 yards out and kicked the extra point. Darlington answered with two touchdowns of their own and two successful 2-point conversions (interesting note: Darlington does not appear to have a kicker or a punter on their team, according to a roster found online). The score going into halftime was Darlington 20, Belleville 7.
The Wildcats scored in the third quarter when Trevor Syse ran it in from 4 yards out and kicked the extra point. The Redbirds scored twice more in the fourth and with 4:54 left in the game, Belleville's Trevor Syse floated a 13-yard pass to Demarcus Conner for the score, with the 2-point conversion unsuccessful.
Trevor Syse was 10 for 15 and had 165 passing yards at QB.
Dylan Posthuma led the Wildcats in rushing yards with 22 on 6 attempts, while Syse had 4 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.
Leading in receiving yards was Carson Syse with 62 on 2 receptions, while Dylan Posthuma had 45, Anthony Nolden had 28, Andrew Ace had 20 and Demarcus Conner had 10 with 1 touchdown.
On Defense, Jake Fahey had 5 tackles, while Carson Syse and Dylan Posthuma had 4 and Anthony Nolden had 3.
The Wildcats play at Mineral Point on October 15th.
