On August 22, 2021, at around 12:18 p.m., the New Glarus Police Department received a complaint of a male subject that was hanging around the New Glarus Schools and acting very suspicious. Contact was made with the subject, and he was identified as Todd Heitkemper, 44, Burlington, Wisconsin. Upon checking for any wants and warrants, Heitkemper was listed on the National Sex Offender Registry and was holding an active warrant for his arrest from the State of Montana.
