Raiders Are Regional Champions, Fall to Spartans at Sectional Level

Sugar River Raider Girls Soccer won the Regional Championship on June 17, 2021, with a 3-0 win over Evansville.
On June 17th, the Sugar River girls soccer team hosted Evansville at the Belleville Sports Complex and won, 3-0.
In the first half, Jaylynn Benson assisted by Kirsten Krantz scored on a header off a corner kick, and then Benson was assisted by Madi Winterburn to score again.
In the second half, Benson assisted by Paige Leonard scored the third goal.
Morgan Thompson had 7 saves for Sugar River, while Kaitlyn Peterson had 3 saves.
With the Regional Championship theirs, Sugar River next played at McFarland on Saturday, June 19th, for the Sectional Championship and a chance to compete at state....
